Humans,
still steering.
Jezweb has built the web for Australian businesses for over twenty years. Today we build AI agents and apps on Cloudflare, but a person in Newcastle is still the one who picks up the phone.
// Who we are
From web agency to product studio.
We started building the web in Newcastle in the late 1990s: for fun first, for paying clients from 2001, and as a business from 2002. Two decades on we’ve built thousands of websites and host around 1,500 of them, and learned what actually keeps a business online and growing.
The work has changed. We build on Cloudflare now, ship our own AI products, and run a virtual team of AI agents alongside our people. But the job is the same as it ever was: make the web work for businesses that have better things to do than wrangle technology.
Founded and led by Jeremy Dawes, we’re a small, senior team that builds ambitiously and answers honestly. The future arrived. We’re here to help you use it.
// What we believe
How we work.
Humans still steer
AI does the heavy lifting; people make the calls. Every project has a real person in Newcastle accountable for it, not a black box and a support queue.
Ship the real half
We were promised flying cars and talking computers. We build the half that actually arrived: useful, working software, not hype or demos.
Tell it straight
If AI is the wrong tool, we’ll say so. If a cheaper path exists, we’ll point at it. Straight answers beat upselling every time.
Build to last
On infrastructure that’s fast, secure and won’t fall over. We host and look after what we build, so it keeps working long after launch.
// The people
A small, senior team in Newcastle.
Plus our AI team members (who do real work alongside us) and remote specialists who prefer to stay off the website.
Jeremy (Jez) Dawes
Strategy, architecture, AI engineering, and still the one who answers the hard questions.

Jez has spent 25+ years helping Australian businesses get online and grow. He started building sites in the early 2000s while working in computer repairs, founded Jezweb to be the web partner who actually picks up the phone, and has worked through every shift since, from static HTML to AI. His rule for AI is simple: it should make things easier for business owners, not hand them another system to learn. Outside work he's with his wife Pip and their two daughters, helping at the local Scout group, mountain bike orienteering, or out on the water in an outrigger canoe.
