Who we are

Jezweb Pty Ltd (ABN 88 127 346 730) is an Australian web and software studio based at 5 Cowper St, Wallsend NSW 2287. References to "we", "us", or "Jezweb" in this policy mean Jezweb Pty Ltd.

We collect, use and protect personal information in accordance with the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs) under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).

What we collect

We collect personal information that's necessary to provide our services. Specifically:

Information you give us

  • Name, email, phone, business details when you contact us via forms, email or phone
  • Billing details (ABN, business address) when you become a client
  • Login credentials and access details for client systems we're asked to manage (with your authorisation)
  • Content you publish to a Jezweb-hosted site, including names and contact details of people you mention

Information we collect automatically

  • Server logs (IP address, page accessed, timestamp, user agent) for security and operational purposes
  • Cookies and similar technologies to maintain login sessions and analytics, see "Cookies" below
  • Email tracking events (opens, clicks) when you receive a newsletter you've subscribed to

Information from third parties

  • Public business information from sources like ABR, Google Business Profile, ASIC when researching prospects
  • Referral details when an existing client introduces you to us

How we use it

We use personal information to:

  • Respond to enquiries and provide quotes
  • Deliver web design, hosting, app development and support services
  • Send invoices, payment reminders, and operational notices about services we provide
  • Send newsletters or marketing emails, only if you've subscribed, with one-click unsubscribe in every email
  • Improve our services through anonymised analytics
  • Comply with legal obligations (tax records, evidence preservation)

We do not sell, rent or trade personal information to third parties for their marketing purposes.

Where information is stored

Personal information is stored on:

  • Cloudflare infrastructure with Australian data residency where possible (Sydney edge for most workloads)
  • Australian-based hosting for client websites unless the client specifically requests otherwise
  • Email services with Australian or international providers depending on the service tier
  • Backups encrypted at rest, retained for 30 days, accessible only by authorised Jezweb staff

Some service providers we use (Stripe for payments, Cloudflare for hosting, Google Workspace for email) may process data outside Australia. Where this happens, we ensure they meet equivalent privacy standards.

Disclosure to third parties

We may disclose personal information to:

  • Service providers who help us deliver services (payment processors, email delivery services, cloud infrastructure providers) under contractual privacy obligations
  • Professional advisors such as accountants and lawyers when reasonably necessary
  • Government bodies when required by law (subpoena, court order, regulatory request)
  • A purchaser in the event of a sale of all or substantially all of our business, with notice to affected individuals

Your rights

Under the Privacy Act 1988 you have the right to:

  • Access the personal information we hold about you
  • Correct information that's inaccurate or out of date
  • Withdraw consent for marketing communications at any time
  • Lodge a complaint if you believe we've mishandled your information

Cookies and analytics

This website uses cookies for:

  • Session management if you're logged into a Jezweb-managed system
  • Analytics via Google Analytics 4 to understand site usage in aggregate
  • Performance monitoring via Cloudflare to detect issues

You can disable cookies in your browser settings. The site continues to work without them, though some features may be limited.

Data retention

We retain personal information only as long as needed to deliver services and meet legal requirements:

  • Active client data: retained for the duration of our engagement
  • Financial records: retained for 7 years per Australian tax law
  • Marketing list data: retained while you remain subscribed plus 30 days after unsubscription
  • Server logs: retained for 90 days for security investigations
  • Backups: retained for 30 days

Security

We use industry-standard security measures to protect personal information:

  • Encrypted connections (TLS 1.2+) for all data in transit
  • Encryption at rest for stored data
  • Multi-factor authentication on all staff accounts
  • Restricted access on a need-to-know basis
  • Regular security reviews and penetration testing of our infrastructure

No system is 100% secure. If we discover a data breach affecting you, we'll notify you in line with the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.

Children

Our services are intended for businesses, not children. We don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18 in a personal capacity. If you believe we've inadvertently collected information from a minor, please contact us and we'll delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always available at /privacy with the "Last updated" date at the top. For material changes affecting how we handle personal information, we'll notify affected users by email.
