ShedHand
who’s got the drill?

Equipment checkout for shared sheds: Scout halls, Men’s Sheds, SES units, trade crews. Stick a QR label on the gear and borrowing is two taps on a phone, logged on the spot, with no borrower accounts to create. The quartermaster runs the whole shed from a phone in the doorway.

The sign-out sheet on the clipboard is illegible, half-empty, and nobody knows who took the good drill. Shared sheds run on trust and memory, and memory loses gear.

What it does

Two taps, logged out

Scan the label, tap borrow. No app, no account for the borrower: the record is made on the spot.

Labels that resolve forever

Each QR or NFC sticker is a permanent code. Gear gets retired, never the label, so a scan always knows what it is.

An honest audit trail

Every borrow and return is an append-only movement. You always know who has what, and who had it last.

Built for the doorway

One-handed, dim-shed, phone-first. Every core action is two taps from a scan or it does not ship.

  • Know who has every piece of gear, and who had it last.
  • No borrower accounts to manage or chase.
  • The sign-out clipboard, gone.
  • Run the shed from the doorway, not a desk.
  1. 01Stick a QR or NFC label on each piece of gear.
  2. 02A borrower scans it and taps borrow: no account, logged instantly.
  3. 03An optional SMS link is their receipt, never a gate.
  4. 04Returns are a tap by anyone at the shed: re-shelved, audit recorded.
  5. 05The quartermaster sees who has what from their phone.

Built for Scout halls, Men’s Sheds, SES units, surf clubs and trade crews: any shed where gear is shared and walks off.

Not for you if If you need per-borrower logins, multi-step approval chains or asset-depreciation schedules, ShedHand is deliberately simpler than that.

Do borrowers need an account or app?

No. They scan the label and tap borrow. The whole point is that borrowing works logged out, in two taps, on whatever phone is in their hand.

What if a label gets damaged?

Codes are permanent and never reused. A label can be deactivated and reprinted, but the same code always resolves to the same gear.

Who can return gear?

Anyone at the shed can re-shelve an item with a tap. The audit trail records every movement, so returns stay honest without a gate.
